Why we should create “forgettable” journeys

Earlier this month, Saffron and our industrial design partner Tangerine teamed up to present at the Railway Interiors Expo 2015 in Prague.

We began on the first day by giving a presentation on the main stage entitled “Why Create Forgettable Journeys?”.

Saffron’s Strategy Director Ben Knapp and Tangerine’s Creative Director Matt Round showed how strategy and design can deliver customer experience optimisation that reduces and eliminates passenger pain points, whilst at the same time improving a rail operator’s bottom line. Ben presented some of Saffron’s work for the Vueling airlines and A1 telecoms brands to show how it is done successfully in other categories.

We then offered delegates the opportunity to attend workshops run by Saffron and tangerine. The sessions themed ‘More Bang for your Buck!’ and ‘De-mystifying Design and Brand’ ran at regular intervals throughout the conference, and were led by leading designers and brand strategists. The sessions were very well received and inspired delegates with great opportunities for the rail sector through the application of good design and creativity.
