In December 2025, global leaders gathered in Osaka for Dialogue For the Future City, a private roundtable focused on the legacy of Expo 2025 and what comes next for one of Japan’s most dynamic urban centres.
Jacob Benbunan, Saffron CEO and Co-Founder, was invited as a keynote speaker alongside fellow leaders in tourism, urban planning and creative industries. Together, they explored how Osaka can evolve into a more global, inclusive and culturally vibrant city; one that leads Asia while staying true to its local roots.

Jacob joined the first roundtable, After the Expo: Envisioning the Future of Osaka as an International City, contributing a brand-led international perspective in a conversation about infrastructure, identity and place alongside Jonathan Malveaux of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and Lutz Leichsenring, Co-Founder of Netherlands-based VibeLab.
From the power of civic storytelling to the importance of long-term vision, the session explored what it takes to shape a city brand that’s recognised and respected on the world stage.
