Newton is a UK-based management consultancy founded on a simple belief: consultants should only be paid if they deliver measurable, lasting results. For over twenty years, they've helped some of the largest public and private sector organisations tackle complex systemic challenges through a radical 'no results, no fee' model that offers an alternative to traditional consulting. As Newton's ambitions grew, so did the need for a brand that reflected what made Newton different for both clients and future talent in an increasingly crowded and competitive market.

AN INSIGHT-LED APPROACH

To understand how Newton was perceived inside and outside the business, we worked with Source Global, specialists in professional services research, on a programme of focus groups, perception surveys and in-depth interviews. The research revealed a disconnect. Internally, people struggled to articulate how Newton had evolved and who they now competed with. Externally, the business was still largely associated with operational efficiency, leaving many clients unaware of its broader strategic capabilities.

<h2>From efficiency to impact</h2>
Developed closely with Newton's sector, capability and marketing teams, a new brand positioning reflected its role as a strategic delivery partner to the C-suite, shifting perceptions beyond operational improvement alone.
Alongside this, a clearer brand architecture will support future growth, giving the organisation a more coherent framework as it expands organically and through acquisition.

Challenging the sea of sameness

Management consultancies often look and sound remarkably alike: restrained colour palettes, abstract graphics and polished but impersonal communications.
Newton deserved something different. Rather than trying to visualise complexity, the new identity focuses on what clients ultimately care about: the impact of the work. The result is a distinctive visual language rooted in how Newton delivers measurable outcomes for people and business.

<h2>Making it applicable</h2>
The identity needed to work as hard as Newton's consultants do. It had to be practical enough for fast-moving client work while remaining distinctive across every touchpoint.
A new flexible toolkit supports everything from client presentations and reports to brand communications and digital campaigns. The result is a system that works equally well for consultants and the brand team, adapting across audiences without losing coherency.

Finding Newton's voice

We worked with Newton to define its tone of voice for the first time, protecting its refreshingly straightforward, jargon-free style as the organisation continued to grow.
Together, we created four simple writing principles and tested them across the business. Then, the principles were rolled out via training sessions for Newton's brand and marketing teams, which helped establish greater consistency across internal and external communications from day one.

Bringing the brand to life

From the outset, we worked alongside Newton to define their experience principles, which would bring the brand to life and shape its new website.
Grounded in audience insight, a phased launch approach balanced immediate business priorities with long-term flexibility.

The result is a modular website designed to evolve with the organisation, combining new layers of interaction, a refined interface, and a scalable design system that communicates Newton's value clearly across a complex network of stakeholders.
