Supporting the Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer

The tenth annual Contra el Cáncer race held by the Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer took place in the centre of Madrid this past Sunday, April 16. Saffronites were back again this year, showing support for an organisation leading the fight against suffering caused by cancer – a fight that is so close to home for many of us.

The main event centred around two races along the Paseo de la Castellana, one of the Spanish capital’s main avenues. The 4km and 10km races were open to runners and walkers alike and participants could dedicate their races using the phrase Yo corro por… (I run for…) on their race number.

Besides the main races, attendees enjoyed a memorable day of family-friendly activities including music, children’s races, and activities set up in the Plaza de Colón.

The Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer is on a mission to alleviate and avoid suffering caused by cancer for anyone, regardless of where they live or their personal circumstances. This year marked the tenth year of their annual Contra el Cáncer race in Madrid, helping to raise awareness and support the fight against cancer.
