Democratising accessible education for Disabled talent in creative industries

Disability Pride Month commemorates the 1990 Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a landmark human rights law protecting disabled people from discrimination. As we celebrate Disability Pride Month in July, we honour the estimated 1 billion people with disabilities worldwide, highlighting their contributions to society and advocating for their legal rights. The occasion is an opportunity to embrace the spectrum of human identity and do justice to the inherent dignity and inalienable rights of what the World Health Organization has called “the world’s largest minority”.

We recognise the progress around disability inclusion made in every aspect of society thanks to the dedication and advocacy of activists and organisations along with support from allies.

While we celebrate progress, there’s still important work ahead. Enter Making Space.

Making Space is a learning experience platform democratising accessible education for Disabled creative talent and reshaping the future of Hollywood and beyond. Making Space recognises the limited opportunities and underrepresentation faced by this community and aims to address these issues by investing in the future of their work in media, entertainment, and advertising.

By providing the necessary resources and support, the platform aims to transform their path to employment and career advancement, bridging the gap between Disabled and non-Disabled individuals and creating a more equitable environment.

Congratulations to Making Space for their efforts in creating a world where Disabled individuals can experience an inclusive and accessible education, leading to unparalleled opportunities. The platform’s brand was developed in partnership with Saffron, and it takes inspiration from a prototype that we imagined together. Join us as we celebrate this vision during Disability Pride Month and continue to foster empathy and inclusivity, working towards a brighter future for everyone.
