Saffron & Original Inc. hold event together in Tokyo
The start of a new direction for place branding in Japan
Following the announcement of our partnership with Original Inc., this week we were in Tokyo for a reception with members of the local and national communities to explore the current state and future of place branding in Japan. Representatives from real estate, nonprofit, IT, media, hospitality, and government were in attendance. Together, we discussed the challenges Japan faces in delivering an appealing global narrative despite the country’s rich and varied assets.
At the reception, we shared insights on how Tokyo became the world’s most attractive city tourism brand as reported in City Brand Barometer 2022 and heard from attendees about their experiences creating new directions for businesses and brands post-pandemic across Japan.
The strategic partnership combines Saffrons global expertise in brand experience, innovation strategy, and design with Originals local insight and pioneering approach to tourism and urban planning. Both independent companies share the ambition to empower Japanese public institutions, foundations, and businesses to position themselves as competitive global brands.
