Charting a path to a brighter future

Congratulations to Galp on the launch of their new brand identity.

We partnered with the multinational energy company to align their brand with their business strategy as they work towards a diversified solutions approach to energy. Our work together included a new brand positioning, strategy, EVP, and visual identity.

Building on Galp’s rich heritage, we crafted a future-ready identity reflecting their current reality. The importance of culture on brand is fundamental so we helped Galp reshape their people and culture strategy to bring this new vision to life.

Galp's former identity no longer captured their expanding portfolio of services, products and ambitions. It was time for a bold move. The result? A shift from their flame symbol to a distinctive wordmark, enabling Galp to evolve without being anchored to one, single idea while also bringing them closer to their audience.

For the visual identity, we developed three core principles: Change and Renewal, People and Community, and Legacy and Stability. The new design introduces shifting shapes, representing a diverse and adaptable energy portfolio.

To add warmth and reach, we expanded Galp’s colour palette beyond its iconic orange incorporating other vibrant hues that appeal to a broader audience.

Galp’s new brand tells a fresh story about their commitment to businesses, local communities, their employees, and the ecosystems they support.

We were thrilled to help launch Galp’s new brand at CHARGE Europe in Lisbon, where we shared highlights from our collaboration. In a fireside chat, Marco Serrão, Galp’s Chief People & Spaces Officer, and Fernando Ortiz Ehmann, Saffron’s Executive Director of Strategy, offered insights into the brand’s transformation and cross-industry lessons.

In the coming weeks and months, we look forward to seeing the impact of Galp’s renewed identity on the communities they serve.
